Jan Hnízdo

MVDr. Jan Hnízdo

In 2000, Jan Hnízdo completed his veterinary medicine studies at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen. He completed surgical internships at the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Leipzig (small animal surgery clinic) and the Veterinary University of Bern (Vet-swiss surgical clinic). Since 2001, he has been working as a veterinary doctor with a focus on surgery in the Czech Republic. In 2003, he founded the Animal Clinic Prague, where he specializes in orthopaedic and oncological surgery as the chief surgeon. He is the author or co-author of more than 60 veterinary publications in Czech and foreign veterinary journals. He published around 20 herpetological works. In 2011, a herpetology textbook, "Medical Care of Turtles and Tortoises" was published; by Hnízdo, Pantchev.

Since 2006, he has been lecturing at professional veterinary meetings in the Czech Republic (KVL, ČAVLMZ) and abroad (ESVOT congress / CSAVA/USAVA congress, Intrauma symposium / DVG – ARAV congress, WSAVA seminars, SAVLMZ courses, etc.).

His main interests are arthroscopy, correction of limb deformities, joint replacements and now the newly developed partial knee prosthesis method.

He has three daughters: Alicia, Johana and Sofia and several reptiles.
